by The Nothing Man indoes anybody know of any words, which are spelt and pronounced the same, which are used in other languages but which mean completely different things?
as an example (which doesn't work i know) love in english means affection, but love in say, spanish, means hate?
dumb example i know, but do you catch my drift?

"Queenie" has passed away
by Brymichmom ini got an email from her daughter lisa this morning regarding "queenie", who used to post on this forum as well as others, such as my yahoo groups.
many of you long timers on this forum probably remember queenie.
she had multiple health problems and took a turn for the worse last month after a fall and died yesterday.

cars were lined up for miles in front of me, and were backing up behind me.. another accident!
as a matter of fact there were 2 accidents that day.. of course when traffic does start moving it travels at a snails' pace.

I agree, I remember an incident on the M6 in the UK where somebody was threatening to jump off a bridge over the motorway and there were huge tailbacks - the police had stopped traffic and after a while people were shouting 'JUMP'
